Workshop of Food Sovereignty and Agroecological Models

Workshop of Food Sovereignty and Agroecological Models

As part of the activities of the project "The Role of Community Support in Achieving Food Sovereignty - Phase Two", in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation - Palestine and Jordan, a workshop was held on food sovereignty and ecological farming models, at Om Sleiman Farm, on the 3rd of October. Participants included agroecological activists and farmers who are advocating for the adoption of food sovereignty, from different farms, local initiatives and agricultural cooperatives.
The workshop included an introduction to the Community Supported Agriculture (SCA) model of the Om Sleiman Farm,  as well as a review of the concept of food sovereignty in the global and Palestinian context. The participants also learned about other local farms, agricultural cooperatives,  that adopt clean agricultural methods from the perspective of food sovereignty.
The workshop also included working with participants from the different farms to identify the difficulties related to each farm's context and to propose solutions based on popular and grassroots support, in order to formulate an action plan for the coming year.
